We finished up our release tour at the legendary Joe’s Pub in NYC. What a phenomenal venue! Sound and lighting were great, staff was very professional, and an intimate and sophisticated space. We played the hits from Mosaic and Urban Organics, and Rogiérs joined us for an impromptu version of OutKast’s “Prototype”. Check out the video:

About Mosaic:
Soul Cycle brings an infectious blend of jazz, funk, and world music to Mosaic, their eagerly awaited third release. Featuring guest vocals from Rogiérs as well as the core lineup of keyboardist Jesse Fischer, saxophonist Brian Hogans, bassist Josh David, drummer Corey Rawls, and percussionist Shawn Banks, Mosaic captures the intimate energy of a live perfomance, resulting in honest music that ranges broadly from contemplative to joyous, from searching to playful. Overflowing with memorable compositions, dynamic group interplay, and raw soul, Mosaic is a bold statement in support of real music.
“Blue in Green” at NJPAC
Friday, August 21st, 2009Just got back from playing at NJPAC for their Sounds of the City outdoor festival. We had a blast being on stage in front of several hundred people; the weather was great and we couldn’t have asked for a more enthusiastic audience! There’s nothing quite like playing music outside in the summer!
Tasty Treats Recap
Monday, May 18th, 2009Our first Tasty Treats show was an unqualified success! Groove was packed with friends, family, and music lovers, and we all enjoyed a diverse night of music from the soul. Most importantly, many of us who were fans of one the groups performing were introduced to the others for the first time; I hope we all walked away from the night feeling more enlightened and optimistic about music and life!
Soul Cycle tried out something new from our upcoming album, called “Above the Clouds”:
Saunders Sermons performed “In a Sentimental Mood” again, but this time we flipped it gangsta-stylee:
And we revived the old Sam Cooke classic, “You Send Me”:
Looking forward to the next time we can mix and match styles at Tasty Treats Vol. 2!
